Lilith (リリス Ririsu) is Yuko Yoshida's ancestor. She can appear in Yuko's dreams and receive offerings given to a statue that Yuko's mother Seiko Yoshida used for the doorstop. When a switch flips in the bottom of the statue, she can take control over Yuko's body.

Currently, she cannot harbor a physical form and communicates with Yuko through her dreams and through the demon statue.

Appearance

Lilith has long, messy and wavy blonde hair. Her skin is slightly tanned and she has dark purple colored eyes. Her ears are long like a fairy's and she has horns that are longer compared to Yuko's, although her left horn is broken.

Personality

Lilith could be called a cunning person, but she is quite clumsy too. Lilith seems to be very adamant on defeating the Light clan's magical girls, but like Yuko, she ends up relying on Momo Chiyoda.

Abilities

Ancestue

Lilith initially lives within the ancestor statue. In this form, Lilith can only communicate with Yuko in her dreams. After being offered Momo's blood, she gains the ability to speak without needing telepathy. There is a switch below the statue which allows Lilith to switch places with Yuko for a period of time, allowing her to posses Yuko's body.

Telepathy

Lilith can communicate to Yuko via telepathy, this extends to vassals under Yuko. Distance both in dreams and the real wrold may interfere with the reach of her signal.

Vessels

Lilith can possess physical vessels made with mana until its mana runs out. Many of these bodies are crafted with the help of Ogura and Momo's mana, letting Momo override Lilith's actions while in the vessels. In later chapters, she gains a body in her image that lasts long due to a curse put on her by a serpent spirit, so she no longer lives within the ancestor statue.

Vassal Contract

Lilith is able to make vassals for Shamiko. This allows them full or partial rights to Dark Clan mana, granting abilities like entering dreams and hearing Lilith through telepathy. It also grants the vassal with a Fallen Form with clothes and weapon designed by Lilith herself.

• She is an ancestor of the Dark Clan, and the ancestor of Yuko, yet she is afraid of the dark.
• Lilith is actually very smart.
  • This is proven in Episode 9, where after accepting an offer from Yuko's teacher to take the exam, she got third place with a score of 1181 points.
• She is born in Mesopotamia.
• She is known as the "eternal dark witch".
• Lilith looks very similar to Yuko.
• Lilith's nickname, Shamicen, resembles the name of a stray male calico cat from the series The Melancholy of Suzumiya Haruhi.
  • It also resembles the name of a traditional Japanese musical instrument.
